13/01/2022 Giappone, Ryūkyū, Kyūshū, Okinawa  “If you ever come across anything suspicious like this item, please do not pick it up, contact your local law enforcement agency for assistance” 沖縄戦の傷跡は、戦争が終わった後も県民の暮らしにさまざまな形で影を落としてきた。普段は見えないまま潜み、住民の安全を脅かしているのが不発弾だ。建物や道路の工事現場などで、不発弾が見つかることは戦後77年となる今も珍しくはない「鉄の暴風」と呼ばれる激しい地上戦では、約20万トンもの爆弾類が使用された。その一部、約1万トンが不発弾として残ったと推定されている。　過去には住民らを巻き込む爆発事故も起きた。　県民に強い衝撃を与えたのは1974年に那覇市の幼稚園で起きた事故だ。園の外堀沿いの工事中に不発弾が爆発し、3歳の女児や作業員ら計4人が死亡、34人が負傷した。近年では2009年、糸満市で水道工事作業中に不発弾が爆発した。男性2人が重軽傷を負い、近くの老人ホームの窓ガラスが100枚以上割れる被害があった。那覇空港の滑走路近くで不発弾3発が相次いで見つかったのはおととし。沖縄の玄関口である重要施設での発見に驚きと恐怖を感じた。県の推計では、20年度末時点で回収されていない不発弾は1906トン。国や県は処理に年間約30億円の予算をかけているが、近年の処理量で進めると全ての処理に100年近くかかる計算となる。気が遠くなるような期間だ。「終わらない戦争」はそれだけではない。戦没者遺骨もある。　復帰前、琉球政府が推計した戦没者収骨対象は18万8136柱に上る。　長年、遺族やボランティアらが収集を続けてきたが少なくとも約2800柱は未収骨だ。激戦地だった本島南部を中心に地中に眠ったままとみられる。「どうにかして遺骨を探して供養したい」との遺族の思いは強い。ただ、探す手掛かりを持つ戦争体験者は減る一方だ。開発による地形の変化、遺骨が風化して周囲の土砂と見分けにくくなっていることなども収骨を難しくしている。遺骨収集ボランティア「ガマフヤー」代表の具志堅隆松さんは次世代に引き継ぎ収集の継続を訴える。その思いを受け止めたい。今、辺野古新基地建設を巡って南部からの土砂採取計画が持ち上がっている。「人道に反する行為」と県民が憤るのはもっともである。昨年の慰霊の日、玉城デニー知事は平和宣言で、戦争の傷が今も残ると指摘し「国の責任において一日も早いご遺骨の収集、不発弾の処理を行ってほしい」と訴えた。　どちらの問題も、沖縄が戦場になったことで起きた。戦後処理の一環として国が責任を持つのは当然である。特に、16年に施行された戦没者遺骨収集推進法は、遺骨収集を「国の責務」と定め、24年度までを集中実施期間に位置付けている。その責務はまだ果たされていない。 Source: news.yahoo.co.jp Photo: mainichi.jp 警察は「不発弾を見つけたら近づかず連絡してほしい」と話しています。 Biography of a Bomb Dear editors, Biography of a bomb is aimed at highlighting the danger caused by unexploded bombs.
