A spokesman for the rescue team said: “On our arrival we were met by the local family that had called us; they had been walking on the beach after the overnight storm. “Their children Balin, 11 and Tate, 7 had spotted an upturned Second World War anti-tank mine at the top of the beach, which had been uncovered during the storm. Living locally they knew the history of Slapton Sands and the significance of what they found and told their parents, who called the Coastguard.
Slapton Sands, Biography of a bomb compliments Balin, Tate and their parents!
Coastal storms keep coming at Slapton Sands and even in these days the violent strength of the sea brings an anti-tank mine. This time it was found by two siblings, Balin and Tate, 11 and 7 years old. This time the two brothers remembered the stories told by their parents about the events of 1944 and realized that moving the object would be a great act of stupidity and danger. Therefore, the two young boys decided to go home and tell their discovery. The parents warn the police, which reached the site and destroyed the bomb in security. Congratulations to the excellent parents that raised awareness among their children and bravissimi Balin and Tate. S.J.A.L.
Quindi Balin e Tate, tornano a casa e spiegano tutto a mamma e papà.
