On Monday evening, Delhi Police received information about an unidentified bag being found in Mohammadpur area of South-West Delhi. After which the local police and bomb disposal squad immediately reached the spot. When the police reached the spot, an old and rusted grenade was recovered. South West Delhi DCP said that in view of the possibility of being an old, mutilated, burning object, the area has been cordoned off and necessary precautionary measures are being taken. An old and rusty grenade has been recovered from a suspicious bag found in Mohammadpur area. Police and Bomb Disposal Squad are present at the spot and the entire area is being searched.
Panic over suspicion of ‘rusty ball’ being a grenade in RK Puram
The Delhi Police on Monday launched a bomb disposal protocol after receiving information that a ‘grenade-like’ object was seen in south-west Delhi’s RK Puram. This information was provided by officers. A senior police official said that they initially suspected the said object to be a ‘grenade’, but during preliminary investigation, it was found to be a ‘rusty ball’.
