Workers cleaning out the Putah Creek Canal, between Martin and Hilborn roads, on Tuesday located what appeared to be a smoke grenade and fragmentary grenade. There was no threat to the public, officials said. Law enforcement responded to the scene and called the Travis Air Force Base explosive ordnance disposal team to assist. EOD determined that while the smoke grenade was live, the fragmentary grenade was not. EOD took control of both devices for disposal.
