Clearance divers set out to strip unexploded ordnance from the wrecks of four iron ore carriers that were sunk near Bell Island in two separate attacks in 1942. Joint Task Force Atlantic shared images of this week’s effort, including the removal of five pieces of ordnance and their disposal through a controlled detonation.
