An item believed to a historic hand grenade has been found in a Burton outbuilding. Police are currently at the scene in Tutbury Road, Burton, along with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal. Police said they were called at 10.30am today, Saturday, July 16, and the device was found in an outbuilding. A cordon has now been put in place in the street as residents are kept updated. A spokesman for East Staffordshire police said: “We are currently in attendance at an address on Tutbury Road, Burton-on-Trent, following reports that an item, believed to be an historic hand grenade, has been found in an outbuilding.
