A 250 pound bomb from the World War II was found in the office compound of Department of Meteorology and Hydrology in Myikyina, Kachin State on the morning of November 17. It was found near a staff officer’s house when the land was prepared for seedlings. “In the past, shells and old bullets from WWII were found but now we found a huge one. According to elders, the office compound used to be a WWII camp site,” said Tin Htaik, director of DMH. Tanks, bullets and shells from WWII were frequently found in Kachin State.
