A 450-kg bomb of World War II vintage was found three feet under the ground while digging for a lamp post near Kalaikunda air base in West Bengal, official sources said today. The explosive, encased in a thick iron barrel and measuring about 4 feet in length, was found at Moulishol village while digging to erect the lamp post in a sub-station of the state electricity board yesterday. Police said the bomb was manufactured in 1939 and would be defused permanently in nearby Dudhkundi forest soon.
