Speaking to reporters, Tampin Deputy Police Chief DSP Amiruddien Sariman said that the Operations Room of the district police headquarters received information from the public about the discovery on Monday (Dec 26) evening. Bernama reported that he said that the police had been told that the object resembling an old bomb had been found at Ladang Jelai in Gemas, adding that Gemas Police Station personnel quickly went to the scene and confirmed the presence of the object. DSP Amiruddien said that the size of the bomb was as big as a gas cylinder, indicating that it could be a remnant from World War Two. The personnel on duty immediately cordoned off the area with police tape to declare it a prohibited and dangerous zone,” he said. DSP Amiruddien added that the Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB) of the Negri Sembilan Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) and Tampin District Police conducted the bomb disposal process on Wednesday (Dec 27). The low-order bomb disposal technique uses a vulcan-shaped charge, causing the bomb to explode into fragments,” he said.
