Warwickshire Police have asked people to avoid the Banbury Road area of Stratford after a suspected unexploded bomb was found on a building site today. Disposal experts are currently at the scene. A cordon and road closures have been put in place. People have been asked to avoid the A422 Banbury Road towards Ettington as a result of the discovery. In a statement, police said: “Officers are currently in attendance at a building site on Banbury Road, Stratford, following reports of items found believed to be historic unexploded ordnance. A cordon and road closures are currently in place.

If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
