The device, believed to be an unexploded bomb, was found in the rear garden of a property in Sunnydown Road, Oliver’s Battery. Police and the military bomb squad have been spotted at the scene and a cordon was imposed. Hampshire police in a statement said: “We were called just after 11am today to a report of a suspected unexploded ordnance in Sunnydown Road. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended and confirmed it was not dangerous and have removed the item. Cordons have now been removed”.
