Trains between Exeter and Okehampton were temporarily stopped over the weekend after an unexploded World War II bomb was found near the tracks. GWR closed the service around noon on Saturday and disruption lasted several hours. The company said in a tweet: “Due to an unexploded wartime bomb discovered near to the railway line, services between #ExeterStDavids and #Okehampton has had to be closed. Disruption is expected until 13:15 06/08.” The company later confirmed the situation had been resolved but disruption was expected to last until 2.15pm on Saturday.
