A tragedy occurred today in the weapons factory in Băbeni, in Vâlcea County, after a landmine exploded and killed four people. Four people – three men and a woman – died in a violent explosion, produced a few hours ago, at the mechanical plant in Băbeni, Vâlcea. Three other people were seriously injured and arrived at the hospital. The disaster occurred during a special course, in which employees learned how to scrap ammunition. The territorial labor inspectorate has opened an investigation. 15 and 56 minutes had passed when a strong explosion shook the mechanical plant in Băbeni, Vălcea. The workers were inside the factory where they took part in an ammunition scrapping course, held by an authorized company. On a platform they had 3 anti-personnel mines in front of them. It is not excluded that some of them were near the explosive mines and others outside the room where the bombs were located.
