A suspected unexploded World War Two mortar shell was found on Lancing beach at around 2.45 this afternoon. A bomb disposal unit (EOD) from Her Majesty’s Naval Base in Portsmouth were called to take the bomb away.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
