Terminata la bonifica bellica effettuata in determinate zone della riserva naturale “Openlands Lakeshore Preserve, la probabile presenza di ordigni bellici inesplosi posizionati in altre aree della riserva fa nascere una querelle tra i responsabili dell’Openlands (organizzazione no-profit) e i dirigenti di chi gestisce le operazioni di sminamento (Marina-Esercito). La diatriba in corso è indirizzata alla riapertura delle zone chiuse al pubblico, causa presenza di ordigni inesplosi. Tuttavia la polemica termina subito in quanto le parti in casa stanno preparando nuovo progetti di bonifica.
