This is the moment an unexploded bomb was detonated on an Anglesey beach. The bomb squad was called to Ynys y Fydlyn, in the north of the island and the beach was cordoned off while it was exploded. Coastguard teams were also at the scene. A video of the moment the shell blew up, showed a large plume of smoke and debris rising into the air in the distance, before a loud bang is heard.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
