The device had lain hidden in the house in Harry Street, Morriston , for decades.

But when it was uncovered the Barratt family became concerned it may still be dangerous and called police.

Officers cordoned off the house at around 12.30pm yesterday while a bomb disposal squad arrived from Shrewsbury, 120 miles away.
