Army explosives experts were called out to Bannockburn House after the discovery of what appeared to be a WW1 or WW2 mortar bomb. It had been discovered while volunteers had been clearing out B-listed outbuildings in the grounds of the historic mansion. Penny Ellis of Tullibody and Scott Smith of Stirling were working in one of the chauffeurs’ garages where material had been deposited over the years.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
