Επί τόπου κλήθηκαν αστυνομικές δυνάμεις και η περιοχή αποκλείστηκε για λόγους ασφαλείας. Σύμφωνα με όσα έγινα γνωστά, πρόκειται για διαβρωμένη χειροβομβίδα, πιθανότατα κατάλοιπο του Β’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου.
