A resort in Veal Veng district, Pursat province, found many landmines and explosive remnants of war after the business owner later suspected that the area he planned to invest in had mines and contacted the mine authority to inspect. Ly Thuch, First Deputy Chief of the Mine Authority, posted on social media this morning, August 30, that the owner of a resort in Pursat province suspected that his resort area is under threat of landmines and explosive remnants of war. After requesting the CMAC unit to inspect, they found many landmines and unexploded ordnance. As an official in charge of the Mine Authority, Ly Thuch “calls on all business owners or the private sector who plan to invest in the suspect mine areas and other unexploded ordnance to contact the Mine Authority or any demining operator who has received a clearing licence from the Mine Authority to clear those areas safely.” Clean up before starting its investment project.” Kampuchea Thmey
