Rail passengers were warned of delays and cancellations after a suspected unexploded bomb was found near a line in east Leeds. National Rail said the “unexploded wartime bomb” was found in the Cross Gates area. It said lines between Leeds and Micklefield had been closed as a result, prompting delays and cancellations on services between Leeds, York and Selby. The lines reopened at about 20:30 BST but passengers were told to expect continued delays and disruption until the end of the day.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
