Heute wurde in der Nähe vom Heiligen Weg im Rahmen von Bauarbeiten ein 250-Kilogramm-Blindgänger gefunden. Dieser muss noch heute durch den Kampfmittelbeseitigungsdienst der Bezirksregierung Arnsberg entschärft werden. Von der damit verbundenen Evakuierung sind ca. 1300 Anwohner:innen betroffen (siehe Karte).

Auch von verrosteten Krieisrelikten und Waffen können noch Gefahren ausgehen. Beim Fund von Kriegsmaterial wird ein Sicherheitsabstand eingehalten und sofort die Polizei zu verständigen. Der Besitz von Kriegsrelikten ist laut Polizei allgemein verboten.
