By Lorna Hughes
Bomb disposal experts have been called to a Dorset beauty spot after the discovery of an unexploded device. Specialist officers descended on Studland Heath on Saturday afternoon (July 16) to deal with the incident. It is not known exactly where or when the item was found, but police issued an update at just after 4pm to say officers were at the scene. Representatives from the National Trust are also on site. Police said: “Purbeck Police are currently dealing with an unexploded device on Studland Heath. we have fire, explosive ordnance disposal team and the National Trust here.”
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
