Un incendie s’en est suivi, rapidement maîtrisé par les pompiers. L’explosion a été causée par un engin enterré, en l’occurrence des munitions datant de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Les démineurs de l’armée luxembourgeoise sont immédiatement intervenus pour neutraliser les explosifs et sécuriser les lieux.

Durante lavori di scavi effettuati nell’area boschiva, l’operatore di un escavatore per mezzo della benna smuove terreno e un residuato bellico incendiario risalente alla seconda guerra mondiale. Le fiamme provocano un piccolo rogo del sottobosco, sul posto giungono i Vigili del Fuoco che domano le fiamme.
Par sécurité, la police conseille à la population de ne pas toucher ou déplacer ce genre de munitions. La gendarmerie rappelle la conduite à tenir quand on découvre un tel objet, qui reste potentiellement dangereux, même plus de 70 ans après les bombardements de 1944 : « Appelez le 17 et n’y touchez pas. »
Die Polizei weist darauf hin, dass gefundene Munition niemals angefasst werden soll, auch bei dem blossen Verdacht dass es sich um Munition handeln könnte.
