WA Department of Fire and Emergency Services have calls for concern as the Red Gully bushfire rages on towards old explosives surrounding Wedge Island. Mainland Wedge Island is at high risk of fire threat as firefighters are unable to enter the perimeter due to unexploded ordinances from the old Lancelin bombing range that surround the settlement.

Contea Moora. L’incendio boschivo che ha colpito il Comune di Red Gully allerta i Vigili del Fuoco, perché i forti venti spingono i roghi in direzione dei Comuni Lancelin e Wedge Island. Le fiamme che hanno raggiunto Wedge Island, rendono quasi impossibile ogni operazioni di lotta alle fiamme. Infatti gran parte dell’area boschiva di Wedge Island è inaccessibile a causa dei residuati bellici inesplosi.
