Muž s detektorem kovů procházel lesy mezi Kopidlnem a Budčevsí odpoledne v neděli 7. listopadu. Když při prohledávání terénu narazil na munici, zavolal na tísňovou linku. Celkem šlo o sedm nevybuchlých ruských granátů a 15 rozbušek.

Podle pyrotechniků je největší chybou prvě manipulace s municí. „Je potřeba si uvědomit že byla vyrobena hlavně proto, aby zabíjela. Rozhodně by s ní neměl nikdo manipulovat, nebo si s ní hrát. Riziko výbuchu je velké.
