De politie werd verwittigd en nadien kwam de ontmijningsdienst DOVO ter plaatste. De granaat werd onder water tot ontploffing gebracht. De twee jonge meisjes kregen echter een proces-verbaal. Gisteren zijn er verstrengde maatregelen uitgevaardigd ter preventie van het coronavirus en hengelen is nu ook verboden.

Nel Comune di Herent, nonostante le restrizioni imposte a causa del Covid 19, due ragazze escono di casa per raggiungere il Kanaal Leuven-Dijle. Le ragazze munite di cima e magnete “pescano” dal Canale una granata inesplosa, risalente alla seconda guerra mondiale. Sul posto giunge la Polizia che prima stila alle giovani un pesante verbale infine distruggono l’ordigno. In questo caso si tratta di magnetocoronavirsfollia.
DOVO waarschuwt daarom voor het potentieel gevaar en raadt aan om de politie te contacteren bij aantreffen van deze of andere oorlogstuigen. “In dit geval gaat het om een afgevuurd projectiel met gewapend ontstekingsmechanisme. Elke aanraking of verplaatsing kan gevaarlijk zijn”, waarschuwt DOVO.
