Puolustusvoimat on siirtänyt ja raivannut sodanaikaisen kranaatin onnistuneesti merestä Hangossa, kertoo Länsi-Uudenmaan poliisi. Raivaus tehtiin Itäsataman eteläpuolella, ja se aloitettiin aamukahdeksalta. Poliisi rajoitti ihmisten liikkumista vedessä ja rannan tuntumassa raivauksen ajan, ja ihmisiltä estettiin pääsy Merikadun ja Casinon uimarantojen vesiin. Myös veneliikennettä rajoitettiin. Alueella saa liikkua nyt jälleen turvallisesti, poliisi kertoo.Vesialuetta oli valvomassa poliisin lisäksi Puolustusvoimat sekä Suomenlahden merivartiosto.
