Police have blown up a grenade that was found by a boy during a house clearance in Huddersfield. Damside Road was closed hours along with Albert’s Street and King’s Mill Lane after the boy apparently found the ‘suspicious item’ in a house in the town centre and police rushed to the scene. One resident took pictures from the scene and said that he could see police officers carrying out searches in the area. Reports from the scene suggest that the suspicious item was a hand grenade and it was found by a young boy. West Yorkshire Police have now confirmed that police were called to a property in the area after a suspicious item was found during a clearance of a house.
