Scotland County. A special operation is underway after what appeared to be a grenade-like device was found inside a home along the 17000 block of X-Way Road in Laurinburg, according to Cpt. Chris Young with the Laurinburg Police Dept. Young said while the device appeared to be a grenade, it does not seem to be real and has been rendered safe at this time. He added out of an abundance of caution, the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office contacted state bomb technicians to “respond for confirmation, due to the resemblance and how the item was staged.”
