A grenade was found in a dumpsite in Barangay Calajunan, Mandurriao district, around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16. Herbert Jetano found the M67 hand grenade and called the attention of Calajunan village chief Efrain Tagaytayan, according to Lieutenant Benjie Ballejera of Mandurriao police station. Tagaytayan turned over the grenade to the Explosives and Ordnance Division (EOD) for safekeeping. The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) gave a P1,000 incentive to Jetano. ICPO spokesperson, Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines said the incentive program was an initiative of the ICPO’s City Advisory Council-Police Transformation Development, EOD and Liga ng mga Barangay launched in 2017./PN
