A seven-year-old boy detonated a hand grenade he found while fishing with his dad. Macs Perrou and his dad Jules Marchitti pulled up the grenade from the river bed when they dangled down a magnet attached to some rope, Gloucestershire Live reports. Once they realised what they had found, Jules called police, and when bomb disposal experts turned up Macs was allowed to press the button to launch a controlled explosion of the dangerous device.The grenade is believed to date back to World War Two.

Vicende che senza sosta si ripetono all’infinito in ogni Paese d’Europa e chi legge queste notizie non resta che imprecare contro se stessi e “faciloneria, superficialità” dell’essere umano. La storia da raccontare perviene da Gloucester: un genitore porta il figlio di sette anni a pesca. Attenzione un padre di 46 anni, età questa che dovrebbe già includere un minimo di saggezza. Ma torniamo alla storia: il 46-enne è a pesca con il figliolo, ma non utilizza esche vive, artificiali, ma un bel magnete da lanciare ed affondare nel fiume Seven. Certo qualcuno potrebbe chiedersi quali ragioni spingono un genitore a portare il proprio figlio di sette anni ad una pesca del genere, purtroppo questo qualcuno non avrà mai risposte. Pescare con un magnete è pericoloso, potrebbero pescare residui di ferro in grado di ferire o colpire sia l’adulto sia il piccolo. Ma il genitore non pensa a questa possibilità e sorridendo continua con la sua pesca al magnete. All’improvviso la potente calamita attrae un oggetto consistente. Il papà ritira la corda e vede una bomba a mano pressata al magnete. A dire della fonte l’uomo allerta la Polizia, sul posto giungono anche i giornalisti, ai quali il protagonista in negativo di questa novella si dichiara “stupefatto e sorpreso”. Gli inviati, forse più ingenui di lui, credono ad ogni sua parola. La Polizia forse meno, visto che la ricerca del residuato bellico attraverso l’utilizzo del magnete è un sistema utilizzato in mezza Europa. Il papà è pentito d’aver esposto suo figlio a tale rischio, potrebbe aggiungere lo stesso qualcuno citato nelle righe precedenti. Invece no! Infatti questo genio di Sua Maestà si fa fotografare dall’inviato con espressione felice, compiaciuta e, con il piccolo che sostiene il magnete dei miracoli e del buon senso ignorato.

Certainly, someone would ask the reasons of this choice, but this question would remain unanswered. Fishing with magnets is dangerous, because it can attract ferrous pieces that can injure both. But this parent does not realize this and keep fishing with his smile on. Suddenly the magnet attracts a consistent object. The dad pulls the rope and sees a hand bomb. The source reports that he, immediately, warns the police. In site journalists come, to which he declares himself surprised. They believe him.
