The Royal Navy bomb disposal team were called out to Wester Coltfield farm near Forres, where a farmer had discovered the piece of war ordnance in one of his fields. Police first attended at 11.30am, with the area around the shell secured and the device collected by the disposal team later in the afternoon.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
