The A465 from Resolven to Aberdulais has now been reopened after initially being closed in both directions due to the reported discovery of an unexploded ordnance in the area, South Wales Police has confirmed. South Wales Police said in a statement: “The A465 from Resolven to Aberdulais has been reopened both ways as has Station Road in Tonna. Thank you for your patience whilst we dealt with this incident and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.” The road was originally closed for approximately an hour. The nearby Royal British Legion clubhouse in Aberdulais was closed for the duration. The Royal British Legion Aberdulais has confirmed that normal service will resume shortly after the social club was evacuated and cordoned off due to its proximity to the reported incident. On Facebook, the club issued an update at 7:28pm saying the cordon around the club had been removed.
