In een weiland aan de Randweg haalden hij en zijn vriend Andrew Jones een 80 kilogram zware Duitse raket naar boven. “Zelfs de EOD had nooit zo’n zware bom gezien.”

Deurne city. A young man, equipped with metal detector, finds a rocket bomb (Wurfkorper raket) dated back to the second world war, German origin, in Randweg street. This is already the second time that bombs are found in the Northern Brabant, this year. It is clear that urgent normalization of the ownership and use of detectors is needed in the Netherlands. People who use metal detectors as a hobby need to understand the danger of their findings. When they remove bombs from the soil or from water, they put everybody in danger. This is a job that must be performed only by experts and professionals, who have been trained and who studied for years, not by people with this “hobby”. Città Deurne. Un giovane, munito di metal detector, in un campo situato in via Randweg trova una bomba razzo (Wurfkorper raket), risalente alla seconda guerra mondiale e di fabbricazione tedesca. Ed è la seconda e consecutiva notizia che perviene dal Brabante Settentrionale. Credo che sia urgente disciplinare le normative olandesi sia per quanto riguarda l’utilizzo di strumenti rilevatori, sia far comprende a questi hobbisti il pericolo prodotto da ordigni del passato, nel momento in cui si procede alla messa in luce di tali bombe. La messa in luce dei residuati è un lavoro destinato a professionisti, gente che possiede brevetti e diplomi rilasciati dai vari Ministeri di Stato e non da personaggi fai da te che mettono in pericolo se stessi, terze persone e tutto ciò che è nelle vicinanze del luogo del rinvenimento. Non è possibile continuare a ricevere tali assurde notizie.
In Nijmegen is het sowieso verboden om met een metaaldetector te zoeken.’Kom je zomaar onverwacht een vliegtuigbom of andere munitie tegen, bel dan de politie via 112, zo luidt het advies van de gemeente. Als het nodig is, schakelt de politie de EOD in. Die opruimingsdienst neemt dan verdere veiligheidsmaatregelen, bijvoorbeeld een ontruiming van het gebied.
