A source of the families of the children in the town of al-Bahra, 100 km east of Deir ez-Zor, said that the two children, Shihab al-Hamad, 3, and his cousin Nazem al-Hamad, 2, lost their lives in a landmine explosion on the edge of a road near their house. The sources added that the girl, Sahar al-Thawab, 7, and the child Jassem al-Hamad, 3, were wounded by shrapnel in the same explosion.
