The shells were found by Staffordshire Police on the site near Milestone Way, in Chasetown, and a 200m (656ft) cordon was soon after put in place. Members of the public are being advised to stay away from the area near Morrisons supermarket while police deal with the shells.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
