Na Kosovu je od 1999. godine do danas očišćeno preko 62 miliona kvadratnih metara, prilikom čega je pronađeno 95.000 mina i neeksplodiranih eksplozivnih naprava, rekao je direktor Koordinacionog centra za deminiranje Ahmet Salova, prenosi Kosovo-online Klan Kosova. Salova je u okviru aktivnosti organizovanim povodom Međunarodnog dana svesnosti o minama i delovanja protiv njih, predstavio rezultate postignute po tom pitanju na Kosovu. Tom prilikom ministar odbrane Armend Mehaj istakao je da su dobrim rezultatima u čišćenju terena od mina doprineli KBS i druge organizacije tog tipa. Zahvaljujući njihovom radu, spaseni su životi mnogih ljudi, a istovremeno je veliki broj zemljišta vraćen na korišćenje zajednicama, ali se još uvek ne smatramo područjem bez mina, stoga je potrebna posvećenost”, poručio je Mehaj.
