In Rheine ist am Montagmittag ein Blindgänger aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg erfolgreich entschärft worden. Die amerikanische 250-Kilo-Bombe war in der vergangenen Woche bei Bauarbeiten auf einem Grundstück neben dem Zollamt in der Nähe der Innenstadt entdeckt worden

Auch von verrosteten Krieisrelikten und Waffen können noch Gefahren ausgehen. Beim Fund von Kriegsmaterial wird ein Sicherheitsabstand eingehalten und sofort die Polizei zu verständigen. Der Besitz von Kriegsrelikten ist laut Polizei allgemein verboten.
