In Trier-Olewig wurde eine Bombe aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg gefunden. Sie musste sofort gesprengt werden. Deshalb mussten viele Menschen am Freitagnachmittag in Sicherheit gebracht werden. Alle im Umkreis von 1.000 Metern um die Bombe mussten die Häuser verlassen. Das waren etwa 5.400 Menschen. Auch Restaurants, ein Hotel und ein Seniorenheim wurden evakuiert.

Auch von verrosteten Krieisrelikten und Waffen können noch Gefahren ausgehen. Beim Fund von Kriegsmaterial wird ein Sicherheitsabstand eingehalten und sofort die Polizei zu verständigen. Der Besitz von Kriegsrelikten ist laut Polizei allgemein verboten.
