On the evening of Friday, September 20, HM Coastguard Borth and HM Coastguard Aberystwyth had to deal with suspected ordinance found on Ynyslas beach, which is part of the Dyfi National Nature Reserve, found between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. The unexploded items were found on Friday evening, with the coastguard teams immediately cordoned off the area of beach to protect the public until the ordnance was covered by the tide shortly after.
