A cordon was put in place in Dorking (Saturday, January 6) while emergency services responded to a suspected “unexploded ordinance” found by a member of the public on Hampstead Road south of the town centre. Bomb squad specialists were called to the location and concluded the device “did not pose any risk”.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
