Explosive ordnance disposal officers were called to Morda Road in Oswestry on Sunday, to reports of a grenade in an outbuilding. West Mercia Police attended, promptly cordoned off the road and called in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team who removed the device. A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We were called on Sunday at around 10.50am following the discovery of a hand grenade. “A cordon was briefly in place while experts from Explosive Ordnance Disposal attended and examined the device. It was found to be inactive.”
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
