“If you ever come across anything suspicious like this item, please do not pick it up, contact your local law and/or enforcement agency for assistance”.

Army bomb experts have “safely disposed” of an unexploded World War Two device found in a field near a village. At 15:35 BST on Tuesday, police were called to Dairy Road in Semer, near Ipswich, after reports a metal cylinder had been found. A 600m (1,969 ft) cordon was set up and the public were urged to stay away. “Due to the remote location there was no requirement to evacuate members of the public,” said a police spokesperson. Suffolk Police confirmed the device, believed to be a bomb, was dealt with by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team at 10:25 BST on Wednesday.
