Sejumlah bom granat hasil peninggalan Perang Dunia (PD II) di Pulau Morotai, Maluku Utara, ditemukan dalam kondisi diduga masih aktif. Bom tersebut ditemukan oleh Komunitas Petualang Anak Empang Morotai (PAEM) diduga masih aktif, pada Sabtu 2022 Juli 2022, dekat Universitas Pasifik Morotai. Para pecinta petualangan PD II itu, awalnya bermaksud mencari sisa-sisa peninggalan sekutu dan Jepang, mereka menggunakan alat deteksi logam dan menemukan sejumlah bom. Selain itu, sebelumnya Komunitas PAEM juga menemukan peninggalan sisa-sisa PD ll berpupa proyektil peluru 12,7 dan peluru lainnya. Salah satu anggota Komunitas Empang, Jamal Makatika, didampingi Ketua Empang M Hatta Taha mengungkapkan, penemuan Bom Granad ini bukan kali pertama.
