The large metal device measures, which is about 6ft long and is thought to weigh about 1,000kg, was found just yards away from sands popular with sunbathers. Emergency crews – which alerted local residents – said it was now likely the bomb would be towed out to sea and detonated. It was discovered on a sheltered beach near holiday homes and emergency services descended to work out how to deal with it safely.
