The Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) has released a report detailing demining activities conducted in the liberated territories during October. In total, ANAMA cleared 5,657.7 hectares of land from mines and unexploded ordnance during this period. Demining operations in Azerbaijan are a collaborative initiative involving the ANAMA, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Border Service. Their concerted efforts aim to secure liberated areas, facilitating the return of civilians and the resumption of normal life. ANAMA’s ongoing activities demonstrate Azerbaijan’s commitment to post-conflict reconstruction and humanitarian support in regions impacted by conflict. These successful operations highlight the dedication of ANAMA and its partners in reducing the dangers posed by explosive remnants of war, thereby promoting recovery and development in these territories. Following the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from Armenian occupation, reports suggest that land mines were deliberately planted by Armenia as part of its military strategy. These mines, designed to harm civilians and hinder the return of displaced individuals, present a significant security threat in the region.
