A bomb disposal team were called to a Liverpool street after a grenade was pulled from a canal. Boundary Street in Vauxhall was closed in both directions shortly after 3pm on Sunday as police descended on the area. The road closure came after the discovery of an old grenade which was found by a fisherman in the Leeds-Liverpool canal. Photos taken at the scene show an army bomb disposal team parked beside the canal and a large police cordon in place. Merseyside Police said the incident was reported at around 3pm and involved the discovery of a “rusty grenade” which was not active.
