Police are highlighting the dangers of picking up old military items from the Birubi sand dunes after a man and a young girl received shrapnel wounds when ordnance found at the beach exploded in their Anna Bay home.

A Birubi, un 37-enne, in compagnia delle figlia di quattro anni, raccoglie dalle dune della spiaggia un residuato bellico inesploso, risalente alla seconda guerra mondiale. Padre e figlia rientrano a casa con la bomba. Il 37-enne posa l’ordigno in una stanza. Il residuato detona e ferisce bimba e genitore.
