“If you ever come across anything suspicious like this item, please do not pick it up, contact your local law and/or enforcement agency for assistance”.

Nick Gallagher

Cumberland County. Goodwill is urging donors to thoroughly inspect their antiques before bringing them to donation centers. This advisory follows an incident where a grenade was inadvertently dropped off at a store in Falmouth, Maine, as reported by WMTW. The store was evacuated as a precautionary measure, though the grenade was later confirmed to be deactivated. Heather Steeves, a spokesperson for Goodwill, said she didn’t think the donor intended any harm. She added that while clearing out homes and barns, people might unintentionally donate dangerous items: “We just have a lot of old stuff — so I think someone probably accidentally donated their grandpa’s old deactivated grenade for some reason.”
